'Over Due' A film by Russell Rankin & Chris Hoffmann

College student Sam Campbell has been
given one last chance by his professor to turn
in his English paper. After pulling an
all-nighter to finish the assignment, Sam is
forced into an adventure when his car won't
start. Drug dealers, a soothsayer, a temptress, a
magician, a crazy woman, gun toting old
man and even a homeless person stand
between Sam and a passing grade on his
strange, comedic, and surreal journey.

College student Sam Campbell faces an ultimatum and must complete an
over-due paper on Thoreau's Walden in one day, or else fail his English
class. He manages to pull an all-nighter to finish the paper, but faces a
stressful journey on his way to turn in his assignment. Already beaten
down by having lost a job, running low on funds, and losing a girlfriend,
Sam faces more distress when he discovers that his printer is broken.
Hoping to pass his class still, he saves his paper onto a couple of floppy
disks and plans to drive to school to print his paper-- only his car won't
start. Sam turns to many people in his quest to get to school and meet
with his professor, all of whom bring less-than-desirable results. His
pothead friend, Jeff, leaves him behind at a park, his old classmate has
turned into an obsessed soothsayer, his parents won't pick up the
phone, and his old girlfriend almost runs him over. Sam also encounters
some odd strangers along the way, including the intriguing and artistic
Mary, the frighteningly passive-aggressive old man, Dante, the
off-the-wall animal-lover, Kaylei, a struggling magician named Pip, the
police, a homeless man, do-gooders, brute drug-dealers, and even an
evil dog. Through all the events of his single worst day ever, Sam comes
to terms with who he is, who the people are around him, and just what
his lot in life may be.

Sam has one day to turn in a paper
that will determine if he passes his
college English class. After working all
night, Sam faces nothing but
adversary on his way to turning in his
assignment. His printer won't print, his
car won't start, his friends and family
abandon him, and Sam is left to the
total strangers to make his way to
school. Only, the strangers he meets
are far from helpful. He finds Mary,
artistic and seductive, but cruelly
misleading, Kaylei, energetic but
dangerous, Dante, insane and
unpredictable, Zeike, who's lost his
mind, and even an evil dog. Sam will
stop at nothing to turn in his paper,
but it appears as though nothing will
change his luck and allow him to pass
his class.
